How to travel New York City to Montreal by bus?

1. Buy a ticket, get on the bus that says Montreal, find a seat.
2. Go to the Port Authority Bus Terminal on West 42nd Street and buy a Greyhound ticket. It's a straight shot up the Hudson River Valley to Montreal. The hooker, drug dealing, pervert, and panhandling action at the bus terminal is a good preview to what you'll find in Montreal, and Canada in general.
3. There are two bus companies that do the route from NYC to Montreal. Greyhound and Adirondack Trailways. The latter is a bit more expensive, but has nicer buses. Greyhound is more frequent.
